Katie is an NCIDQ certified Interior Designer, with more than 17 years of professional experience.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from Michigan State University.  Prior to teaching at NYSID, she practiced both commercial and residential design at SOM, Bogdanow Partners Architects, Eve Robinson Associates, Rockwell Group, and Gensler.

Peiheng Tsai is the principal of PHT Lighting Design, Inc., an award winning lighting design firm based in New York City. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree, as well as the Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design degree from Columbia University.

Joung Taek Yi is a registered architect in the State of New York and a member of the AIA.

His background in digital practice management involves overseeing BIM at BKSK for 3 years, participating as a BIM committee member at Magnusson Architecture and Planning for 3 years, and providing guidance on the initial significant BIM project at Gluckman Tang.

Some of his notable projects and achievements include: multifamily housing developments in New York City and New Jersey with BKSK Architects; the three-phase Linden Terrace project in Brooklyn, NY and the Andrews Avenue Senior Housing development with Magnusson Architecture and Planning; Hongshan 6979 and K11 Select projects with Laguarda Low Architects; and the Exhibition Facility and Headquarters in Fort Worth, TX and the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum New Exhibition Building Expansion with Gluckman Tang.

Seema Pandya is an accomplished sustainability consultant with over 15 years’ experience working with projects to design and construct sustainable building solutions. She has worked on over 40 sustainable building projects and is a 3rd party USGBC technical LEED Reviewer for over 100 projects. She also was recognized by Green 2.0, as a diverse leader in the environmental field. She is a graduate professor of sustainable design at the NY School of Interior Design and FIT SUNY currently teaching the Introduction to Sustainability in the Built Environment for graduate and undergraduate students, as well as Residential Studio 1, and Constructing, Operating, and Maintaining the Green Interior in the NYSID MPS program.  Seema is also an accomplished multidisciplinary artist exploring the intersection between sustainability, art, culture, and the built-environment with an aim of connecting audiences with experiential awareness of natural cycles. Having several public and private art commissions, her work has been featured in Vogue India, Mood of Living, and Fine Woodworking magazines. Seema also served as the Chair of the NY IIDA Sustainability Forum and Board Of Directors and currently sits on the Board of Directors for the non-profit, Brooklyn Raga Massive.

Marty Salzberg
 
 

Marty Salzberg worked as an architectural lighting consultant for more than thirty years. Her work was honored with multiple industry awards for design and energy efficiency. As a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society, Marty has been a member of the Library Lighting Committee since 2003 and is currently the Chair. She is a Professional Member of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), where she is an active member of the Energy & Sustainability Committee and serves as the IALD representative to the ASHRAE/IES 90.1 code committee. Marty also serves on the IALD Specification Integrity Task Force and as the IALD representative to the Department of Energy Commercial Codes Advisory Committee. Outside the world of lighting, Marty is completing her first year as an ESL tutor in her community.

Mark has been a professional lighting designer in New York City for 17 years. He is the staff lighting designer for Celano Design Studio. Before turning full time to architectural lighting, Mark was a Broadway associate lighting designer for 10 years. He has been teaching lighting design at NYSID for six years. He hold an MFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and is a member of the IES.
