First-time, degree/certificate-seeking undergraduate students (2014 cohort, completion rate in 150% of normal time): 

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts: 67%

  • Associate in Applied Science: 100%

  • Basic Interior Design certificate: 24%

Of the 24 BFA graduates in 2021-22, 71% completed their degree within four years and 100% completed with six years.

New professional level Master of Fine Arts graduate students (2017 cohort, completion rate in 150% of normal time):  84%

Of the 40 professional level Master of Fine Arts graduates in 2021-22, 95% graduated within three and years and 100% graduated within four years.


Job Placement Rate for the 2020–2021 Academic Year

95% of our undergraduate students were employed or pursuing further education within six months of graduation

Of the 30 BFA graduates located from 2020-2021, 27 (90%) were employed and 3 (10%) were pursuing further education.  Among the employed BFA graduates, 93% were employed in jobs that were discipline related.

98% of our graduate students were employed or pursuing further education within six months of graduation

Of the 26 professional level MFA graduates located from 2020-2021, 25 (96%) were employed and one (4%) was still seeking employment.  Among the employed MFA graduates, 100% were employed in jobs that were discipline related.

The New York School of Interior Design is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, 1007 North Orange Street, 4th Floor, MB #166, Wilmington, DE 19801. (267-284-5000). The MSCHE is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

The New York School of Interior Design is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).

The interior design program leading to the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design (BFA) and the professional-level Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design (MFA-1) is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, www.accredit-id.org, 206 Cesar E. Chavez Ave SW, Suite 350, Grand Rapids, MI, 49503. The CIDA-accredited program prepares students for entry-level interior design practice, for advanced study, and to apply for membership in professional interior design organizations. The BFA and MFA-1 granted by the New York School of Interior Design meets the educational requirement for eligibility to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification Examination (NCIDQ Exam).
