Interior Designers for Legislation in New York (IDLNY) honors Dr. Ellen Fisher

Congratulations Dr. Ellen Fisher for being honored by IDLNY as a long-time advocate of legislation to advance, promote, and protect the right to practice interior design in the state of New York.

"IDLNY has accomplished great things because of the people that were committed to its mission," said VP of Academic Affairs and Dean, Dr. Fisher. "I have always been very aware of my responsibility to contribute to the building of this profession – contributing however I have been able to. If you are here, then you are also aware, as I was, of how important you are as an individual, to the powerful work of IDLNY, influencing legislation and advocating for our profession."

“I was pleased when I learned that Dr. Ellen Fisher was to be honored at the 2018 IDLNY Gala,” said IDLNY President-Elect and Director of NYSID’s MPS Sustainable Interior Environments program, Ethan Lu. “As VP for Academic Affairs and Dean at NYSID, Dr. Fisher instills the value of professional development and the importance of professional certification throughout our institution. As an educator, she has helped thousands of interior design students graduate and become leaders in their field. These leaders are now advancing the interior design profession and supporting the expansion of designer rights. We could not have gotten to where we are today without advocacy efforts from industry supporters such as Dr. Fisher.”
