Deborah Berke Presents the Michael I. & Patricia M. Sovern Lecture on Design

On October 19, the Michael I. and Patricia M. Sovern Lecture on Design was presented by renowned architect Deborah Berke. See photos from the event here.

Dean of the Yale School of Architecture, author, and founder of Deborah Berke Partners, Berke explored how architecture is a “cross-decades collaboration” between the architects of yesterday and today where existing buildings can be transformed into new spaces for living, working, and learning using creative innovations in sustainability and technology. She shared examples from her frim’s work, including 21c Museum Hotels, Richard Olmstead Complex, and P.S. 122. The presentation was followed by a reception in the NYSID Gallery, as well and a dinner at a private Manhattan club.
