Grad Center Opens for OHNY
NYSID students spend a lot of time studying the built environment. It only seems appropriate that this upcoming weekend, NYSID’s own built environment will get some special attention. The Gensler designed Graduate Center (my home away from home) will be featured in the 10th anniversary of Open House New York (OHNY) Weekend.
Along with many other impressive New York City spaces, the public is invited to come tour the facilities, and see what my fellow grad students and I affectionately dub “the studio.” NYSID takes a lot of pride in this space (nearly 40,000 square feet), with its LEED-Platinum rating and clean, modern aesthetic. It really is a place to behold. You can read all about it and see some great photos in the Interiors & Sources feature article.
So, drop in this weekend and take a tour. Representatives from NYSID, Gensler, Jonathan Rose Companies, and Turner Construction will be available to field questions and show you around. This is a great opportunity for everyone and anyone to come see this normally off-limits space. It’s also a good time for NYSID students to show their friends and family around and see what we’re all about.
Open House New York weekend is this Saturday and Sunday, October 6 & 7 from 10am to 4pm.
The Graduate Center is located at 401 Park Avenue South at 28th Street, 3rd Floor. No RSVP required, just come by!
