The New York School of Interior Design Announces Appointment of New Board Member
New York, New York – January 7, 2020 – The New York School of Interior Design announced that it has appointed Brad Schneller, president of SCHNELLER, a custom upholstery and drapery workroom based in New York City since 1881, as a member of the College’s Board of Trustees, effective November 14, 2019.
“My family’s 140-year connection to the New York design community and NYSID’s almost equally long tradition endows us both with opportunities and challenges,” said Brad. “In this time of seismic change in the design industry, I’m excited to join a leadership team that’s committed to helping students understand both where we’ve come from and where we’re headed.”
Fifth generation president of SCHNELLER, Brad is focused on positioning the company to serve the next generation of elite interior designers while adhering to the historical standards of craftsmanship which are the trademark of the company.
Prior to working at SCHNELLER, Brad spent five years working in the Industrials Group of the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs, advising corporate clients on mergers and acquisitions and financing across a variety of geographies and transaction types. He joined Goldman Sachs as an associate in 2013, and was named vice president in 2017.
Brad earned an MBA from the Yale School of Management in 2013 and a Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont in 2004. He serves on the Board of the Fort Greene Park Conservancy and the Young Leadership Council of The Brooklyn Hospital Center, and he lives in Fort Greene, Brooklyn with his wife and two daughters.
