NYSID student Drew McGukin elected to 200-2010 ASID Board

New York, NY - May 1, 2009 - Drew McGukin, a 2nd year student in NYSID’s Associate’s program, has been elected to serve as the student representative on the board of the American Association of Interior Designers, New York Metro Chapter.

McGukin’s duties will include sitting on the board and voting on board matters, keeping in regular communication with all student chapters in the region, reporting on student chapter activities, attending all student related events hosted by the New York chapter, attending the national chapter leadership conference, and communicating with the Student Advisory Council.

“I am really excited to become more involved with ASID at the student level, and feel honored to have been selected by both NYSID and ASID for this esteemed position” said Drew McGukin. “I look forward to taking my design education to the next level as a student leader.”

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is a nonprofit professional society representing the interests of interior designers and the interior design community. The society is lead by a volunteer board of directors that includes the society's president, president-elect, and immediate past president. The association has 48 chapters throughout the United States and more than 30,000 members.
