1 in 7 women will experience postpartum depression within the first year of giving birth, now add the stress and emotions of discovering that your baby has a serious condition that effects the most important organ in their body. Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) is the most common birth defect with cases ranging from mild to possibly fatal. Mothers of babies with CHD have reported that the main stress triggers for them are a lack of social support and knowledge of the disease. The Heart Mama’s Retreat is designed for pregnant women of babies with CHD to relax, recharge and learn. The program contains both physical and mental wellness facilities including spa treatments geared towards pregnancy and stress relief, prenatal yoga and meditation classes and both group and private therapy sessions. Accredited professionals will be included in the program providing trustworthy and reliable information on CHD. The goal of the retreat is to heal clients from both the inside and out while providing them in the ultimate luxury experience.
