On November 8, Rooms with a View will celebrate its 25th year in Southport, Connecticut. The three-day event features 12 designers from across the country who are hand-picked by a design committee, and each will create a six-by-eight-foot vignette around the theme “25.” The event, founded by Albert Hadley, supports eighteen local and regional charities.

Hadley, a giant in the Interior Design industry, left an indelible mark on a generation of designers. A long-time friend of the College, Hadley was known for hiring NYSID graduates and mentoring some of the greatest names working in interior design today. To honor his commitment to the industry, NYSID presents the Albert Hadley Lifetime Achievement Award each year at its annual gala to celebrate a designer who has had a significant impact on the industry.

New this year, we are proud to announce the formation of an annual NYSID scholarship made possible by the generosity of the Rooms with a View board and donors. Applicants in their sophomore or junior year will submit designs for a residential space that will be judged by a panel selected by NYSID. Winners will be invited to produce a vignette at Rooms with a View.
