New York Landmark Interiors Exhibition Opens

On Thursday, March 5, a reception for “Rescued, Restored, Reimagined: New York's Landmark Interiors” celebrated the opening of the exhibition dedicated to the 117 public spaces, both familiar and less-known, that are designated as interior landmarks. It was a lively event, with designers, preservation advocates, NYSID faculty and students in attendance. Co-curators Kate Wood, Hugh Hardy, Kitty Hawks, and Judith Gura are shown here (from left to right) with NYSID president David Sprouls. See photos from the opening here.

The exhibition has already garnered coverage in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Business of Home, and Curbed. And the celebration of interior landmarks continues with our upcoming panel discussion, Changing Use: The Dilemma of Landmark Interiors, on Wednesday, March 25, 6pm with Hugh Hardy, Kitty Hawks, architectural critic Justin Davidson, and New York magazine design editor Wendy Goodman.
