Last spring, as part of NYSID’s centennial celebration, a group of students participated in a project to recolor six wallpapers designed by noted wallpaper designer and longtime NYSID faculty member (1934-79) and alumna Inez Croom. NYSID textiles instructor Adrienne Concra supervised students Audrey Chabaud, Peter Hassler, Nairouz Sabbagh, and Cheryl Sadlowski, creating new colorations for the wallpapers; which were reissued by Waterhouse Wallhangings last month. The wallpapers are available online (look for the NYSID tag), and at showrooms across the country, including John Rosselli & Associates showroom at the D&D Building in Manhattan. A selection of the wallpapers are also on view at NYSID’s 70th street location.
