NYSID students and alumni are joining more than 40 notable interior designers to transform the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, the home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill children. The design teams gathered on Thursday, April 24 for a luncheon, tour of the facilities, and to find out which of the rooms they will redesign. The NYSID team--MFA-2 student Bohou Cheng and BFA students Yuan Yuan Ma, Samantha Masone, Mary Thomas, Vince Tong, and Catarine Wright—is being led by NYSID alumni Brooke Lichtenstein and Yiannos Vrousgos, co-founders of Input Creative Studio (all pictured here along with NYSID president David Sprouls and Dean of Students Karen Higginbotham).

The interior design-led initiative began through a partnership between Kravet, Inc., and New York Cottages & Gardens magazine. Ellen Kravet, executive vice-president at Kravet and a NYSID board member, was instrumental in getting the team of NYSID students and alumni involved. They will be hard at work over the coming months and the final designs will be revealed at a Designer Showcase Gala on Thursday, October 9, 2014. We can’t wait to see the results!
