Video Production Specialist
Position Overview:
The New York School of Interior Design, an accredited, independent institution of higher education devoted entirely to the discipline of interior design and its related professions, has an opening for a full-time Video Production Specialist. The Video Production Specialist will work with the Vice President of Academic Affairs/Dean, Associate Dean, Assistant Dean, academic program directors, and faculty members to develop the most innovative audio and visual experience for online, blended and face-to-face academic content for credit and non-credit courses across a range of topics. The Video Production Specialist will identify and apply emerging technologies and educational methods to create an effective learning experience of the highest quality.
Job Responsibilities:
Be the NYSID expert in video editing and capture
Evaluate the current video editing and capture technology used by faculty, and recommend a plan to achieve a cutting-edge video editing and capture environment for the interior design community
Identify, test, and train faculty and staff on new tools for video editing and capture
Work with the Assistant Dean in audio and video capture and editing, and in creating educational videos for inclusion in courses using media production, graphic design and/or 2/3D animation
Advise and educate faculty, and students about the availability of video editing and capture resources available at the institution.
Attend annual conferences
Participate in strategic planning for the Office of Academic Affairs
Attend faculty meetings and program advisory board meetings
Participate in Office of Academic Affairs responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to receipt of work for accreditation purposes, accreditation activities
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of five years of experience. Familiarity with architectural and/or design professional practice. Knowledge of filming, video-editing, media production, graphic design and/or 2/3D animation. Knowledge of educational philosophies underpinning online learning, through Canvas or other LMS. Good writing and communications skills.
Salary: $45,000 - $50,000 + generous benefits
