Inspired by the early 20th-century avant-garde Wiener Werkstätte (Vienna Workshop), students in Modern Architecture and Design II, taught by faculty member Warren Ashworth, designed their own “dream objects.” Founded by architect Josef Hoffmann and artist Koloman Moser, the Wiener Werkstätte brought together architects, artists, designers, and artisans working across ceramics, fashion, silver, furniture, and the graphic arts. The “dream objects” presented here are not intended to be functional, but rather serve as imaginative, surrealist interpretations of the types of works produced by the Werkstätte.
