From the earliest days of NYSID, graduates have earned distinction as some of the top designers in the United States and around the world.

NYSID alumni work in leading interior design and architectural firms in the industry, including Skidmore Owings & Merrill, Gensler & Associates, Michael Graves & Associates, Swanke Hayden & Connell, Jeffrey Beers International, Eric Cohler Design, Bunny Williams Inc., and Mancini Duffy. International alumni in countries such as Indonesia, Japan, China, Singapore, the Philippines, Taiwan, Korea, India, Egypt, Italy, Peru, and Canada are available to assist fellow graduates.

NYSID is often represented by its alumni in the industry’s major showhouses and in publications such as Architectural Digest, Interior Design, Elle Decor, House & Garden, House Beautiful, and Metropolis. Many NYSID alumni have also been deemed the ”world’s finest„ in surveys such as The AD 100, chosen each year by Architectural Digest and Interior Design’s Hall of Fame.

These successful alumni include internationally known interior designers Mariette Himes Gomez; Mica Ertegun, Anne Eisenhower, Osamu Hashimoto, Barbara Ostrom, and Sylvia Owen; best-selling author and designer Alexandra Stoddard; Allan H. France, Kimberly Latham, Pia Ledy, Ted C.C. Odom, David Scott, and Rick Shaver; and the late Robert Metzger, Michael de Santis, Rubén de Saavedra, and Elizabeth Nesbitt Shean.
